Richard creates and fuels the kind of culture of learning in class that I’d only read about. He creates a class environment that so passion filled and full of talent that its students are pushed, polished and motivated both by him and each other. He peels back every layer until you see and feel the truth in what you are doing. He is more than an incredible teacher. He is the secret weapon that has equipped and empowered me to walk into rooms with a skill, confidence, and authority I’ve never had before.
Richard is truly one of a kind. He is beyond brilliant at what he does, and his expertise has helped me gain confidence in my acting skills. In addition to being an incredible teacher, he has a created a class setting that is supportive, loving, and inspiring. Attending his classes has quickly become my favorite part of every week.
I have always been a big fan of Richard Kline. His specific style of comedy I totally “get”… even when I was very young. My good friend saw his class listed and called me right away. I got off the phone and signed up immediately! I was super excited to be included in his Zoom class and have really enjoyed it. He is kind, delightfully funny and gives wonderful insight and constructive feedback. He will always let you know when you do well which is so encouraging in this business. His direction on scenes is wonderful (comedy or drama) and I always feel like I am getting that much closer to my potential after each class. Thanks so much, Richard! It is so very cool to be working with you and I appreciate every minute!
Richard has the ability to bring out the best in every student, with his masterful notes, and insightful direction. His classes are dynamic and engaging, and always filled with laughter! It’s a very creative and supportive environment that I highly recommend for actors at any I stage of their career.
I grew up watching him on Three’s Company, and was such a fan of his hilarious character and comedic timing, taking his class was a no brainer. When I heard he also ran an in person class here in NYC, I didn’t hesitate to sign up. I’ve been studying with him ever since, and really love his class. It feels much more like a real craft class, the kind we used to go to more often, before all the Zoom stuff and self tape masterclasses that sprouted up during the pandemic. (but he also teaches a Zoom class!) I love the classic vibe of it, and more importantly I feel like I need it, as keeping in touch with the foundational techniques of teachers like Meisner et al, and then mixing it up with Shakespeare too, really grounds me as an actor in a way that is hard to describe. Every person in this class is a delight as well, and we just have a ball every week. I would highly recommend coming into his class and his orbit!
It took a bit of trial and error to find the right acting instructor for me, but I finally hit a home run with Richard Kline.
Richard Kline is a compassionate, talented, and motivating teacher. His instincts and experience as a working actor help me foster a deep understanding of the scene and character analysis. Also, he’s hilarious.
There are many teachers, but few mentors. With over 80 Film/TV credits including series regular and guest spots on several legendary shows, as well as theatre runs in some of Broadways’ best, Richard Kline provides proven wisdom to his students.
Richard’s class exercises as well his passion for acting and directing have helped me grow and feel more confident as a performer.
I highly recommend Richard’s scene study classes. He is an incredible mentor and coach who teaches with kindness, professionalism and a sense of humor.
A terrific actor, wonderful director, amazing teach and coach. Richard’s passion, knowledge and experience are unmatched by anyone I’ve worked with. You couldn’t entrust your craft and your career with anyone better.
I began studying with Richard on the weekly basis in 2017 and in that time, I have grown in confidence, technique and especially in craft.
Richard’s loose, yet structured teaching style provides a learning environment that is safe, nurturing, collaborative and ripe with insightful anecdotes from Richard’s long and storied career in film, television and theater.
With his remarkable eye for casting, Richard has consistently nudged me out of my comfort zone into new challenges; from Shakespeare to Arthur Miller to Tennessee Williams. And through Richard’s guidance, I have learned the discipline of stillness, the simplicity of trusting the text and most notably, “less is more.”
I couldn’t be more appreciative of all the knowledge imparted to us each week and I am so very grateful for Richard’s workshop and most of all his friendship.
